Size Guide
All Kumo divan beds, ottoman beds and bed frames are built in the five standard UK bed sizes. Use this guide to check overall dimensions against your room, your doorway and the mattress you already own. If you are still not sure after reading this, message us with your room measurements before ordering.

4FT6 Double is the standard UK couple's size.
Divan and ottoman bed sizes
All measurements are external dimensions in inches. Width and Length are the overall floor footprint. Base height is floor-to-top of the base. Headboard height is floor-to-top at the head end.

Use the table above for the width, length and headboard heights of every size. The base and headboard heights are the same across sizes; only width and length change.

Bed frame sizes
Divan / Ottoman
Solid upholstered base. Mattress sits on top. Optional gas-lift storage inside. Lower headboard relative to base because the base is tall.
Bed frame
Slatted base inside a frame. Mattress sits inside the frame, not on top. Slim 10" side rail. Optional footboard adds 20" of visible height at the foot.
Bed frame dimensions are reported by component. Frames are slightly longer than divans because the dimensions include the footboard. Width matches the divan sizes above.

Headboard and footboard are measured from the top of the base, not the floor. The gas-lift storage variant uses a 12" side rail and 2" of additional length to accommodate the lift mechanism. Bed frame product photos and finish options are on each bed frame product page.

How to measure before you order
Made-to-order beds cannot be returned where the only issue is access. Three measurements take less than five minutes and save the trip.
Doorway width
The narrowest point of every doorway from front door to bedroom. Divan bases ship in two halves; headboards arrive whole.
Stairs & turns
Staircase width plus the diagonal across any hallway turn. The landing corner is the most common access fail.
The room itself
Tape out the bed footprint on the floor. Leave 24" on each side you want to walk past. Check radiators and wardrobes.

UK sizes vs US and European sizes
UK bed sizes are not the same as US or European sizes. If you have a mattress or bedding bought outside the UK, check below before ordering a Kumo base.

"Closest" sizes are approximate. UK mattresses do not fit US bed frames and vice versa. If you are buying for a non-UK mattress, contact us before ordering.
