What is a divan bed?
A divan bed has a solid upholstered base, and the mattress sits directly on top of it rather than on slats inside a frame. Divans are often sold as a base only. Every Kumo divan comes as a complete set: the base, a headboard and a matching footboard, all upholstered in the fabric you choose. The mattress is sold separately.
Choose your design and size
Pick from five beds: Panel or Panel Wingback with a footboard, Monnaca with a standard or high footboard and a choice of matching or diamante buttons, or Plain with a high footboard. Each is made in five sizes, from a 3FT single divan bed to a 6FT super king, and each size takes a standard UK mattress:
- 3FT Single: 90 x 190 cm
- 4FT Small Double: 120 x 190 cm
- 4FT6 Double: 135 x 190 cm, the standard UK size for two people
- 5FT King Size: 150 x 200 cm
- 6FT Super King: 180 x 200 cm
Full bed dimensions are in our size guide.
Storage, mattress and fabric
Add drawers to the divan base: two on the same side, two on opposite sides, or four. Two on one side suit a bed against a wall. A matching ottoman storage box is also available. Need a mattress? Add one from our range on the product page and it costs £100 less than buying it on its own.
Every bed comes in 17 fabric shades across our Plush, Dumfries and Coniston ranges, from Cream and Grey to Emerald and Oxblood. Order up to six free fabric samples to see them in your room first.
Made to order, delivered free
We have handcrafted beds in Yorkshire since 2013, and each divan is built to order in UKFR compliant fabrics and materials. Delivery to your front door is free and takes 5 to 10 working days from your order date, including production. Delivery to your room of choice, fitting and old base removal are available as paid options.
Please measure your doorways, stairs and room before you order: if a bed arrives in good condition but cannot be taken in, we cannot refund it. Orders can be cancelled for a full refund until production starts. Full terms are in our refund policy and shipping policy.
